The best places to get DVD recorder reviews
C|net Reviews
Here you get reviews from C|net editors and consumers. This is probably one of the best places to look for easy product comparison and DVD recorder reviews. They have 80 products in this category, and you can easily browse them by price, name, editor's rating etc.
For each product you get the total reviews number, the good/bad ratio, and also the editor's rating (X out of 10 points, which is the highest). You don't have to read all the reviews that are in for the same product to get an overall picture.
Another nice thing about this site is they let you compare the products at wish. E.g., you can compare more than two products in the same price category, which is much more than other sites provide. And you can use eight comparison criteria, but you don't have multiple choices. Still, it is the best comparison site we could find up to this moment.
ConsumerSearch.com
As the editors state, this site is “reviewing the reviewers”. It is a very good resource when you want to know about the credibility and objectiveness of a reviewer you've just found. Consumer Research largely explains its ratings criteria.
ReviewCentre.com
This is a fully consumers review-resource and subscribes to all ups and downs of its peers: some items are not rated, some are rated only once. You don't know the person that provides the information and if his or her opinion can be trusted. Sometimes (not always) consumers come to one of these free web sites and splash a review just to get rid of frustration due to a bad choice.
But the upside of consumers reviews sites is that sometimes you just can't find information about a certain product anywhere else.
Amazon.com
Amazon offers customers reviews, but also its own, and full product specifications.
Epinions.com
Epinions is also a great place to sort & compare for yourself. You get all products specifications, but reviews are from consumers exclusively.
You-Review.net
The products get accurate descriptions from their manufacturers or resellers, and you get the chance to register and post your own review. There's a complain on the web site about previous guests abuse in posting reviews; that is the reason why only registered members are allowed to post comments. We tried to read all the reviews on Lite-On, but all we could find was a mess of brands.
DVDRrecorderWorld.com
On this resource you have about 50 products reviewed by consumers. Some reviews are taken directly from the magazine, are posted in .pdf format and require some time to download. You can also consult opinions on the DVD Recorder World Forum.
